Suddenly the peels were spotted, the fruit was soft, and I was staring at the bunch wondering how many banana recipes one person could reasonably make. Luckily, overripe bananas are much more useful than they look, and they gave me a very good excuse to bake something instead of throwing them away.

These 17 recipes are exactly what I reach for when the banana bowl starts looking like it needs an intervention.
